Financial Aid

Bennett Career Institute participates in the Financial Aid program funded by the federal government. Financial Aid is designed to help eligible students pay for their education beyond high school. Financial Aid is available to those who qualify.

TYPES OF FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE TO BCI STUDENTS:

Pell Grant – financial aid that doesn't have to be repaid

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) – type of grant that doesn't have to be repaid

Student Loans – borrowed money that must be repaid with interest

BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Applicants must:

Demonstrate financial need as determined by the financial aid application

Have a high school diploma, GED certificate, approved homeschooled certification or pass an approved ability-to-benefit (ATB) test

Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen with a valid social security number

Enroll in an eligible program at least half time

Must not be in default on a Federal Student Loan

Maintain satisfactory academic progress

Register with Selective Services between 18 and 25 years (males only)

Not have been convicted for possession or sale of an illegal substance while receiving student aid

Sign a statement of educational purpose on the FAFSA

TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

1.Create an FSA ID at www.fsaid.ed.gov for applicant and/or parent in case of dependent status.

2.You need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. School Code # 034096

3.Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (if you filed your taxes)
