MAKEUP 101 PROGRAM

OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Makeup 101 Program at Bennett Career Institute is a certificate program that does not require students to take a State exam upon completion. This 60-clock-hour program is designed to introduce students to the art of makeup application and provide them with a basic understanding of foundational skills. Upon completion of the program, students will be qualified to pursue entry-level positions at department store beauty counters, salons, or as independent contractors.


Throughout the program, students will receive instruction and training in various aspects of makeup application, including skin care, client consultation, eye color, foundation blending, and full-face application. Additionally, the curriculum covers topics related to the business of makeup.

The Makeup Course Is Designed To Provide Techniques That Are Required In:

  1. Bridal Makeup

Natural Beauty

Advertising/Retail Cosmetics

As students' speed and competence increase, they will be challenged to undertake various projects in the Makeup 101 Program. Their work will be critiqued and showcased in a professional photo shoot.

All of our artistry classes are taught by professional, experienced, certified/licensed instructors who bring real-world expertise to the classroom. Our curriculum combines hands-on experience with theoretical understanding, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the industry.


Upon completion of the course, students receive a certification and a full makeup kit to support their continued practice and professional development.

Day 1- Icebreakers, Teacher Introduction Administrative duties for class (sign contract, kit list, etc.)
Day 2– Skin Care 101: Identifying Tone, Type and Texture, Bacteria and sanitation (hands on)
Day 3– Color Theory: The Color Wheel, The Fitzpatrick Scale, Color Creation (hands on)

WEEK 2

Diverse Client Visit !!
Day 1– Facial Types and Features Eyebrow and Eye shadow, and Mascara (hands on)
Day 2-Facial Types and Features Foundation and Blush (hands on)
Day 3– Facial Types and Features Highlight, Contour and Lips (hands on)
