FINANCIAL AID

Bennett Career Institute participates in the Federal Student Aid program, which is designed to assist students in paying for their education beyond high school. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Types of Financial Aid available to students at Bennett Career Institute

  • Federal Pell Grant – financial aid that doesn’t have to be repaid
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) – type of grant that doesn’t have to be repaid
  • Federal Direct Loans – borrowed money that must be repaid with interest

Eligibility Requirements for Financial Aid

Applicants must:
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or state certificate, or approved homeschooled certificate;
  • Be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program;
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen with a valid social security number;
  • Demonstrate financial need for some types of aid (Pell Grant and Direct Subsidized Loan) eligibility for aid is determined by FAFSA
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress;
  • Enrolled at least half-time to receive Direct Loans funds;
  • Not be in default on a Federal Direct Loan; and
  • Sign a statement of educational purpose on the FAFSA.

Applying for Financial Aid

 

  • To apply for financial aid, you’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
  • Financial Aid Policies and Procedures
  • You must create an FSA ID. You will need a user name and password to access certain financial aid sites, to sign the FAFSA and/or loan agreement.
  • You must gather the documents that you need to apply (i.e. tax return transcripts, untaxed income statements, driver’s license, social security card, etc.).
